How to Prepare for GTA VI Launch Day

Launch day will be chaos in the best way. But a game of this magnitude requires more than just hitting 'buy'. If past Rockstar launches are any indication, midnight on November 19 will test internet providers, console networks, and your patience. Here is the ultimate, battle-tested launch prep checklist to ensure you're playing while everyone else is stuck on a loading screen.

1. Storage & SSD Optimization (Prepare for 150GB+)

Let's be realistic: GTA VI will likely demand upwards of 150GB of SSD space. Don't wait until launch night to clear your drive. If you're on PS5, consider upgrading your internal M.2 NVMe SSD now. Xbox users should look into the Seagate/WD Expansion Cards. Running the game on a nearly full drive can sometimes cause system-level bottlenecks. Give Leonida room to breathe.

2. The Pre-Load & Day One Patch Protocol

Pre-ordering digitally is the only way to guarantee you'll be playing exactly at midnight. Rockstar will likely open pre-loads 48 to 72 hours before launch.
